Q What organizations do you recommend to restaurateurs?
Every restaurateur should immediately consider joining the Massachusetts Restaurant Association. The education, the tax articles, the legal articles, and the socializing with fellow restaurateurs are all invaluable. The dues are extremely low for the value received. Incidentally, any member of the Massachusetts Restaurant Association is automatically a member of the National Restaurant Association and it is from the statistics published by the National Restaurant Association with which we compare our client's figures in their monthly reports. This information helps the restaurateur determine if its labor costs, food and beverage costs, occupancy costs, etc. are in line with its peers. It is this information that is very helpful and, of course, being involved with the Association and talking with other restaurateurs is probably the best benefit that can be derived from membership.
The information given is provided for general,
non-specific educational purposes only, and should not be relied upon
as advice relating to your specific circumstances. For company-specific
advice, consult directly with your tax advisor.
